The preschool experience is a first step in a long education process. We endeavor to make it as happy and stress-free as possible. Our programs provide experiences that nurture pre-academic readiness skills, including letter recognition, emergent literacy skills, estimation, storytelling, dramatic play, science discovery, fine motor skills, and number identification.
Individual assessment allows the staff to identify each child’s strengths and needs. Parents receive progress reports twice yearly followed by parent-teacher conferences. Cognitive materials are presented at a rate commensurate with each child’s ability. The after-school program is a non-academic, structured, activity-based program that provides a secure environment for children of working parents. Age-appropriate activities include games, creative projects, physical activity and music. Our science lab, playgrounds, and enrichment programs provide for a comprehensive learning experience for children.
At The Children's Corner, particular emphasis is placed on Christian beliefs and values. A strong, loving Christian atmosphere is developed through the love of God that is shared with the children by the staff and church leadership. The Children's Corner integrates with the community to provide many service learning projects throughout the year.
Teaching occurs through Bible-based songs, prayer, art, stories, and drama. It is hoped that each child will learn to celebrate God’s love through Jesus, his Son, and to know Jesus as a friend.
